"And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about."
— Haruki Murakami (via hqlines)

You represent a lot of characters, and in certain circumstances they’re bad guys but, do you feel in that representing those characters for people it gives you an opportunity to kind of inspire? Even though you know you’re playing “Deathstroke” and stuff, you’re still, these kids still look up to you.

"It’s a very crowded pool… and you have to fight for it. I’m very inspired by the actresses who are working today."

"

you tried to change didn’t you?
closed your mouth more
tried to be softer
prettier
less volatile, less awake
but even when sleeping you could feel
him traveling away from you in his dreams

you can’t make homes out of human beings
someone should have already told you that
and if he wants to leave
then let him leave

you are terrifying
and strange and beautiful

something not everyone knows how to love.

“some historians think that michelangelo was drawing god in a human brain. very few people knew what one looked like at the time; but michelangelo had dissected cadavers and would have known. it even has the hint of a brain stem. if true this would have been a great “fuck you” to the pope whom he was not friendly with but also would have meant god was in a human brain, or created by man.”

also michelangelo painted a baby angel flipping off the pope

the blond one, you see his right hand? that’s called the fig and it’s an old world european gesture for ‘fuck you” because apparently Pope Juluis II was a total raging asshole and everyone hated him

but nobody ever noticed this little fucker because the ceiling was so high

and then thirty years later they called michelangelo back to paint the wall behind the altar and he wasted no time in painting the gates of hell behind the pope’s chair

what a badass

It amuses me to this day how much Michelangelo hated his job

Although, not one of Marilyn’s most known films, Don’t Bother To Knock was Marilyn’s first starring role in her breakout year of 1952.

Here, she plays a mentally ill baby sitter, who has just been released from hospital.

The film wasn’t a huge success at the box office or with critics, as the fans were shocked by the dark genre of the movie and the character Marilyn was playing, however it did make one million dollars profit, which is not commonly known.

A lot of people assume that Marilyn couldn’t act, because she did a lot of comedy films, when in fact if you look at her main filmography (being only around 12 starring roles) you’ll see that she did quite a few different genres.

I’ve heard many people comment, how Marilyn wasn’t a good actress as she was always playing herself, when in reality it’s sad to say, but the melancholy and sadness portrayed in Don’t Bother To Knock, was closer to her personally.

Therefore, the fact she has convinced so many people she was this happy, bubbly, dumb blonde, proves just how incredibly talented she was an actress.

"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around."

"We have all heard the maxim “If you do not love yourself, you will be unable to love anyone else.” It sounds good. Yet more often than not we feel some degree of confusion when we hear this statement. The confusion arises because most people who think they are not lovable have this perception because at some point in their lives they were socialized to see themselves as unlovable by forces outside their control. We are not born knowing how to love anyone, either ourselves or somebody else. However, we are born able to respond to care. As we grow we can give and receive attention, affection, and joy. Whether we learn how to love ourselves and others will depend on the presence of a loving environment"
